Emerging Technologies

I read the article, "Ultra-Efficient Solar". A company called Semprius has created a new solar panel that has record breaking efficiency. 34 percent of the light is turned into electricity. The previous record was only 23 percent. Also these panels don't produce a lot of heat so they don't need a cooling system. Without the cooling system, the price drops a lot lower. They are hoping to mass produce these panels. I can assume that in the future, our society will be a lot more energy efficient and won't waste as much electricity. The biggest surprise was that the record of efficiency was broken by 11 percent. In this area, people could use solar panels to create energy because we get a good amount of sunlight. In 2009, intelligent software assistant was considered emerging technology. Now there is intelligent software assistants on the iPhone and other new cellphones.
